آنکھیں بند کر لیں لیکن ڈرامے میں اس کی نقل گوارا کرلیتے ہیں۔ہم غریب کو پسند نہیں کرتے مگر اس کی تصویر دیکھ لیتے ہیں۔نقل اصل سے جتنی قریب ہوگی اس سے اتنی ہی زیادہ مسرت حاصل ہوگی۔فنکار اپنی تصویر یعنی نقل کو اصل سے ہوبہو ملا نہیں دیتا بلکہ اس سے بہتر بنا دیتا ہے اس لیے اس میں اصل سے زیادہ جاذبیت ہوتی ہے۔, افلاطون کو ڈرامے پر یہ اعتراض تھا کہ وہ انسانی جذبات کو بھڑکاتا ہے۔ناظر کے ہاتھ سے عقل کا دامن اور ان کا اظہار بھی ہوجاتا ہے مثلا کوئی درد ناک منظر دیکھ کر ہم رو دیتے ہیں۔, اس سے ہمارا دل ہلکا ہو جاتا ہے اور اس طرح ہم جذباتی تناو سے چھٹکارا پا لیتے ہیں۔یہ اسی طرح کا عمل ہے جیسے طبیب مسہل دے کر مریض کا جسم صاف کر دیتا ہے۔ارسطو نے اسے کتھارس(Catharsis) کہا ہے ہم اس کا ترجمہ تزلیہ یا تطہیر کر سکتے ہیں۔, افلاطون شاعری کو الہامی مانتا تھا۔مطلب یہ کہ شاعر اپنے اختیار سے شعر نہیں کہتا۔اس کی شعوری انسانی کوشش کا نتیجہ مانتا ہے اور اس کی تربیت و تنظیم کا قائل ہے۔وہ ،فارم ،کو ٹریجڈی کی جان بتاتا ہے۔کہتا ہے کہ اس میں آغاز، وسط اور اختتام ہوتا ہے۔اس کے یہ تمام حصے مل کر ایک اکائی بنتے ہیں اور آپس
